Since Nicola and I are running our third Warrior Dash together tomorrow I thought it would be a good time to recap last year’s race. After running Warrior Dash in 2012, Nicola and I returned for more mud, fire and hills. This time Dan decided to run it too while Connie returned to cheer us … Continue reading

Return to the Berger Pit – Berger Pit Fun Run 5k, 2013
The Berger Pit Fun Run at Kristen’s family’s camp was the first 5k I ever ran. In July 2013 I was excited to return and bring Dan with me. It was a blazing hot day and very different from the last time I had run it. It was a smaller group, but still fun. Dan … Continue reading
Take this picture of me with Teresa Teng! – Taiwan Trip 2013 (228 Memorial Park, Taipei 101), part 6
We spent our last full day in Taiwan exploring more of Taipei. We started the day by taking a nice relaxing walk through 228 Memorial Peace Park, the oldest park in Taipei (known as Taipei Park when it first opened). After World War II when the KMT government took over from the Japanese there was … Continue reading
Run like Ryan Gosling is waiting at the finish line for you with a puppy – Toronto Women’s Half, 2013
Tomorrow I’m running the Toronto Women’s Half Marathon. Before I run it I thought I should recap last year’s race. I actually wrote this post a while ago but never got around to posting it. I hope the race is as much fun as it was last year! In May 2013 I ran the Toronto … Continue reading
I run for chocolate – The Chocolate Race 10 miler
In May 2013, Dan and I ran The Chocolate Race in St. Catharine’s. I had heard good things about this race and was especially lured by the promise of chocolate (on the course and at the finish) and pink champagne at the finish. With so many goodies at this race how could I resist? Dan … Continue reading
I defeated the Reaper – Around the Bay 30k, 2014
After getting crushed by Around the Bay last year, I was hungry for redemption. During marathon training I could run 30k one hour faster than I did at Around the Bay. I knew I could do better. Unfortunately things don’t always go according to plan. As I’ve mentioned before, this winter has been brutal, making … Continue reading
The cold never bothered me anyway! – the end of Winter running and notes on Swan Lake
On Sunday I did my last run of the winter because spring is officially here! I can’t even explain how excited I am right now. When I set out on my run the weather was beautiful. It was -22 but there was blue sky, sunshine and no wind. I felt overdressed since I had layered … Continue reading
Screw calm and run! – Zombie Race, 2012
Three weeks after running The Color Run in Montreal, Kristen, Nicola and I ran The Zombie Race in Milton. This was the end of my “three weeks later” stretch (I went to Vegas, three weeks later I ran the Disneyland half, three weeks later I ran the Montreal half, three weeks later I ran The … Continue reading
Rainbow Brutes – The Color Run Montreal, 2012
Three weeks after running the Rock n’ Roll Montreal Half Marathon, I returned to Montreal for The Color Run! Or as I like to call it, The Colour Run! (I am Canadian after all.) Shannon, Leena, Isabel and I formed a team for The Color Run called The Rainbow Brutes! We had a lot of … Continue reading
Merry Christmas! – Fairytale of New York
Merry Christmas everyone! When I was in Ireland this past summer, we did a Christmas in July theme at a bar. One of the songs that they kept playing was The Pogues Fairytale of New York. I can’t seem to get that song out of my head so here is Sarah and Gianni (from Walk … Continue reading
