You may have noticed that the blog has been a little quiet lately. That’s because I was in Italy for three weeks! I meant to post something before leaving but was so busy getting ready, finishing things up at work etc. that I didn’t have time.
I’ll be recapping our trip eventually. For now here are some highlights.
We started with a 1o day tour that began with two nights in Rome. We saw the major sights here and did a lot of walking.

In Piazza Navolo in Rome.
Next we went to Pisa

Doing the cheesy touristy picture with the Leaning Tower of Pisa. You know I had to.
Followed by a morning in Cinque Terre

View of Riggamore in Cinque Terre.
And an evening in the Medieval walled city of Lucca.

On the walls of Lucca.
From here we visited San Gimignano

Dan with the wishing well in San Gimignano.
Siena

A fountain in Siena.
and Florence.

Dan and I in Florence.
After that we visited Verona

Juliet’s balcony in Verona.
and beautiful Venice.

Gondolas in Venice.
We ended the tour with a visit to Ravenna

Basilica of St Apollinaris in Ravenna. The amazing frescos date back to the 500s.
Assisi

Sunset in Assisi
and Orvieto.

A side street in Orvieto
We spent the second half of our trip on our own (not on an organized tour) and added a few extra days in Rome where we did a food tour and a vespa tour!

Lunch during the food tour in Rome.

A shot of the Vespas from our Vespa night tour in Rome.
From here we made our way down to Sorrento

The Valley of the Mills in Sorrento
where we stayed for three nights and made day trips to Pompei

Pompei
the Amalfi Coast (Positano, Amalfi and Ravello, which technically isn’t on the Amalfi Coast)

Positano

Amalfi

View from Ravello
and Capri.

Me in Capri
Finally, we travelled to Paestum for my cousin’s wedding

My cousin and her husband deflecting confetti candy that people were throwing at them.
where we also got to explore the Greek ruins.

Me with the Temple of Athena – the smallest of the temples in Paestum’s Greek ruins.
It was amazing and I can’t wait to go into more detail.
Now that I’m back, I’m getting back into running and back into shape. Warrior Dash is coming up, and I’ll be posting the recap from last year’s memorable race shortly!
